He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Wesley Gainous, Sr. and Bonnie Sue Davis Gainous; and his brother Wesley Gainous, Jr.. He is survived by: his sons, Joel Gainous, Jr. (Kayla) of Cairo, GA and Austin Dewayne Gainous (Ashley) of Moultrie, GA; his grandchildren, Kody Marie Gainous of Cairo, GA, Wesley Gainous of Moultrie, GA and Tucker Gainous of Moultrie, GA; and his siblings, Elaine Maskevich (Mike) of Tallahassee, FL and Mike Gainous (Vickie) of Cairo, GA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
