It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lula Daughtry Long (Cairo, Georgia), who passed away on May 24, 2026, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Lula leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Zack W. Daughtry and Isa Dora Sanders Daughtry. She is survived by: her sons, Jim Long (JoAnn) of Barwick, GA and Dennis Long of Cairo, GA; her grandchildren, Jenny Collins (Kipp) of Jesup, GA and Scott Long of Atlanta, GA; her great grandchildren, Harris Collins (Kasey) of Brunswick, GA and Alex Collins of Brunswick, GA; and her sister-in-law Mabel York of Thomasville, GA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
