He is survived by: his wife Bettye Fincher; his children, William Mathews (Becky), Jim Mathews (Cathy) and Mary Mathews (Bill); his grandchildren, Helen Hartgen (Jeff), Susan Rutland (David), Robert Mathews (Ruth) and Barton Mathews (Alison); his great grandchildren, Cate, Will Rutland, Jim, Rob, Henry Mathews, Sutton and Emmie Mathews; and his caregivers, Aliyah Black, Camille Campbell, Ashley Holt, Denise Stansell and Julie Thompson.
