He was predeceased by : his parents, Burness Osborne Dalton and Julia Frances Fain Dalton; and his mother-in-law Carolyn Herndon. He is survived by : his wife Robin Denise Herndon Dalton; his sons, Thomas Fain Dalton, Steven Weldon Dalton and Charles "Chuck" Rutledge Dalton; his grandchildren, Bekah Dalton Cochran, Luke Dalton, Josh Dalton, Jacob Dalton, Michael Dalton and Mandy Dalton; and his great grandchildren, Cole Cochran, Charlotte Grace Cochran, Fischer Cochran, Marshall Cochran and Luke Dalton, Jr..

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home (535 Red Bud Rd NE, Calhoun, GA 30701). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
