He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Prather and Opal Clark Prather. He is survived by: his siblings, Oweta Prather Phipps, Buck and Jimmy Prather; his wife Faye; his son Kirk (Cathy); his grandchildren, Haley, Andy, Liz and Piper Prather; his close friend Will Thompson; his sisters-in-law, Shirley and Jackie Prather; his niece Vicki Hodges; and his nephews, Tommy Prather, Eddie, Kevin, Lynn and Bryan Phipps.
