She was predeceased by: her parents, Rayford Carney and Virginia Bohannon Carney; her son Stephen Parker; and her grandson Kinsley Jackson Gilbert. She is survived by: her husband Willard Parker; her daughters, Stephanie Gilbert (Zevan) and Stacy Long (Jeremy); her grandchildren, Jaron Gilbert (Victoria), CJ Gilbert, Shianne Gilbert and Emma Leek (Brandon); her great grandchildren, Jackson Gilbert, Henry Gilbert and Garrett Greeson; and her siblings, Gloria Hawkins and Eddie Carney (Carolyn). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sonoraville Baptist Church (262 Old Fairmount Rd SE, Calhoun, GA 30701). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in Marcia's honor to the CL Strong Foundation by mailing a check to CL Strong Foundation, Inc, 1232 Spring Place Road, Rydal, Georgia, 30171.
