She was predeceased by: her parents, Earnest Franklin Knight and Alice Dorothy Knight; her son Terry Benton; her daughter-in-law Becky Benton; her brother Melvin; her siblings-in-law, Edith Knight and Hilburn Smith; her nephew Shane Smith; and her siblings-in-law, Maybell Knight and Henry Bolen.
She is survived by: her sons, Kevin (Judy Benton) and Calvin (Candi Benton); her son-in-law Steven Brookshire; her siblings, Alfred Knight, Shirlene Smith, Linda (Billy Brown), Betty Bolen and Janie (Steve Thomas); her grandchildren, Dereck Corn (Savannah), Dustin Corn (Misty), Andrew Benton (Ariel), Kara Payne (Ryne), Tyler Roe (Nick), Bret Benton, Grace Holcomb (Josh) and David Roberts (Krista); and her great grandchildren, Katelyn Corn, Kelcie Corn, Urijah Corn, Ella Rose Benton, Rylan Benton, Cooper Roe, Mason Roe, Beckett Butler, Baylor Payne, Karter Payne, Knolan Adkins, Wade Grogan, Willow Holcomb, Hollis Holcomb and Lyla Blackmon.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home (711 College St, Calhoun, GA 30701). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at the Chandler Cemetery (410 Highpoint Dr, Calhoun, GA 30701).
