It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Oma Jean Pennel of Calhoun, Georgia, who passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Teddy Henderson Weaver and Susie Higgins Weaver; her husband Dr. Billy Malcolm Pennel; her son Mark Pennel; and her brothers, Glenn and Delano Weaver.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Ted Pennel (Larae) and Kathryn Pennel; her grandchildren, Sam Pennel (Amanda), Buck Pennel, Malone Weaver (Brett) and Isabella Pennel; her sisters, Bendean Malone and Sandy Holman; and her great grandchildren, Eli, Emmie-Jean, Jude, Josiah, Rowan, River and Isla.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home (535 Red Bud Rd NE, Calhoun, GA 30701). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Memorial Park Funeral Home (5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119).
