He was predeceased by : his wife Martha Frances Hunter; his parents, Paul Hunter and Louise Hunter; and his siblings, Terry Hunter, Dale Hunter and Leon Hunter.

He is survived by : his stepchildren, Greg Hunter (Ora Moody), Carla Knight, Lynn Cochran (Bruce) and Clay Quinn (Beverly); and his close friend William Glenn Slaven. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
