It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirlene Knight Smith of Calhoun, Georgia, who passed away on March 3, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Knight and Alice Knight; her husband Hilburn "Smitty" Smith; her son Jeffrey Shane Smith; her siblings, Melvin Knight and Maxine McBee; and her grandson Dylan Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Rusty Smith (Shelia), Connie Brown (Gregory) and Shannon S. Petty; her siblings, Alfred Knight, Linda Brown, Betty Bolen and Janie Thomas; and her grandchildren, Misty Lackey, Ashley Smith, Carson Brown, Summer Smith and Spencer Brown. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and one-great-great-granddaughter.
