He was predeceased by: his parents, William Silas and Peggy Galloway Edwards; and his sister Betty Bates. He is survived by: his wife Margie Williams Edwards; his children, Darryl Edwards (Ellen) and Donna Edwards Rogers (Jeff); his grandchildren, Hayden Edwards (Toni) and Bailey Edwards Knight (Hunter); his great grandchildren, Camden, Drayson, Vivian and Vincent; his sister Deborah Huckaby; and his siblings-in-law, Anne Franklin, Jimmy Williams (Annette), Fred Williams (Carla) and Walter Bates. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family graciously requests no flowers. In honor and memory of him, donations can be made to New Town Baptist Church.
