He was predeceased by: his parents, William Strickland and Anette Strickland; his son David Strickland; his siblings, Paul Strickland, Ronnie Strickland, Martin Gentry and Gail Ghorley; and his brother-in-law David Caudle.
He is survived by: his wife Idema Strickland; his sons, Jimmy McRee (Susan) and Robert Strickland (Elizabeth Darling); his siblings, Gary Strickland and Debbie Caudle; his siblings-in-law, Ramona Strickland, Sherry Strickland and Clarence Ghorley; and his grandchildren, Landon Strickland, Gracie Strickland, Elaina Strickland and Ethan McRee. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home (711 College St, Calhoun, GA 30701). A memorial service was held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
