She was predeceased by: her parents, Croswell Alet Thompson and Gussie Mioma Smith Thompson; her husband Charles Bobby Gay; her daughter Patricia Darlene Gay; her siblings, David Thompson and Ann Cromer; and her siblings-in-law, Marie Thompson, Lowell Beard and Royce Cromer.

She is survived by: her sons, Randy Gay (Becky) of Camilla, Tommy Gay (Tess) of Camilla and Jeffery Gay (Wendy) of Camilla; her siblings, Dorothy Beard, Bobby Thompson (Ann), Larry Thompson (Annette), Charles Thompson (Glynis) and Steve Thompson (Betty); her sister-in-law Vera Thompson; her grandchildren, Matthew Gay, Andrew Gay (McKenzie), Daniel Gay, Makayla Gay, Melissa Gay McCook (Jordan), Garrett Gay (Taylor), Grace Gay Powell (Trenten) and Nathan Gay (Katelynn); and her great grandchildren, Cohen Gay, Elijah Gay, Lincoln Gay and Emerson McCook. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, January 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home (410 E Broad St, Camilla, GA 31730). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Camilla (27 E Broad St, Camilla, GA 31730). A graveside service was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 at 4:30 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery (293 Mt Zion Church Rd, Tifton, GA 31733).
