It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melvin Richard Spurlin (Camilla, Georgia), who passed away on February 6, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Melvin Geise Spurlin and Leone Hudson Spurlin; his wife Corrine Bull Spurlin; his former life partner Betty Sue Spurlin; and his daughter Pamela Wilson.

He is survived by : his children, Rene Elkins of Milford, Julie Ann Thompson (Steve) of Tifton, Michael Eugene James (Sandy) of Leesburg, David Geise Spurlin (Diana) of Lester and James Richard Spurlin (Kathy) of Mustang, OK; his brother Critt Spurlin of Montecello, FL; and his grandchildren, Jacqueline Jennings, Jenna Spurlin, Rob Elkins, Jesica Helms, Michael Dowdy, Allan Dowdy, Lacy Eichberger, Shanell Weissinger, Melody Sauls and Ricky Thompson. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
