He was predeceased by: his father Rupert Durand; and his sister Melinda Covington Pate. He is survived by: his wife Shelda Hurst Covington of Camilla; his nephews, Ross Douglas (Michelle), Travis Pate (Alyssa) and Stuart Pate (Lauren); and his siblings-in-law, Brenda Pollock (Tom) and Leon Pate.
