We bid farewell to James E. Strickland of Canon, Georgia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 11, 2025 at the age of 82. James touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. As James departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James leaves behind.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Hendrix Strickland; his children, Joey Strickland (Suzanne) of Canon and Kathy Cothran (William) of Canon; and his brother Charles Strickland of Bowersville. He is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
