He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Gunter and Rachel Gunter; and his sisters, Shirly and Linda. He is survived by: his son Steven Gunter (Melody); his grandson Henry; and his siblings, Stanley (Donna), Joe (Brenda), Jim and Mary.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Providence Baptist Church cemetery fund.
