He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Dallas and Nelson (Hilda Virginia Nelson); and his grandson Taylor Nelson. He is survived by: his children, David Nelson, Jr. (Cindy) and Sherry Coggins (Steve); his grandchildren, Hayden Nelson, Matthew Perkins, Blake Nelson, Nicholas Perkins, Lauren Rowland, Kiley Rowland and Jonah Rowland; and his close friend Ed Chamberlain. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
