He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard L. Hoopes and Mary Stambough Hoopes; his parents-in-law, Joy Dennis Herring and Max Carey Herring; and his brother-in-law Brandt W. Herring.
He is survived by: his wife Kerri Lynn Herring Hoopes; his children, Paul Hoopes (Hildi) of Hernando, MS, Laura Hoopes of Murfreesboro, TN and Craig Hoopes (Michelle) of Alpharetta, GA; his grandchildren, Sydney and Maddie; his sister-in-law Melissa Herring Brooks of Smyrna, GA; his nephews, Matthew Brooks (Nancy) of Mount Hamilton, CA and James Herring of Mableton, GA; his niece Amy Brooks of Smyrna, GA; and his pet Sophie.
