He was predeceased by: his parents, Jarvis McTaggart and Bonnie McTaggart; and his siblings, Sonny, Richard, Leonard, Raymond, Billie Stamey and Diane Estes.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Davis McTaggart; his son Phillip Lee McTaggart of Fairmont; and his sisters, Rosetta Hester and Lucille Goss.
