He was predeceased by: his son Bruce Joiner; and his siblings, Henry Joiner and Estella Bernice Joiner. He is survived by: his former wife Frances Joiner; his siblings, Sylvia Annette Joiner Whitner, Kathleen Marie Joiner Robinson, Shearon Lofton Holmes and Thomas Gerard Joiner; and his great-niece Georgia. He is also survived by eight nieces, three nephews, nine great nieces.
