She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ezra Thomas and Kathryn June Hughes; her husband William Johnston (Bill); her sisters, Beverly Hughes and Melissa Esposito (Steven); her daughters, Waverley Emmons (David), Noelle Galper (Steven), Melanie Johnston (Michael Smith) and Jennifer Sonnenberg; and her grandchildren, Austin, Ryan, Blake Emmons, Emilee, Skyler Galper, Ashton and William Smith.
