He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Thornton and Maude Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Sue Thornton; his children, Susan Pappafotis (Michael), Jan Pierce (Andy) and Michael Craig Thornton (Lynn); and his siblings, Jack Thornton (Kathleen) and Jan Seaton. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
