She was predeceased by: her husband William Edward Swinson, Jr.; her parents, Etholene Whitlow and Homer Whitlow; her brothers, Berger Whitlow, Benjamin Whitlow and Ramsey Whitlow; and her son Andrew Benjamin Burgess.
She is survived by: her son Robert Burgess (Bob) of Dacula, GA; her stepchildren, William Edward "Ed" Swinson III of Huntsville, AL, Evelyn "Evie" Persinger of Cartersville, GA and Susan Lewis of Cocoa Beach, FL; and her grandchildren, Michael Burgess, Molly Burgess, Ashley Terhane, William Edward Swinson IV, Rachael Bishop, Andrew Bishop, James Persinger, Katie Bishop, Thomas Bishop, Jenifer Steen, Brooke Ballance and Shera Stansberry. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
