He was predeceased by: his parents, Burtie Smith and Annie Williamson; his stepmother Louise Smith; his siblings, Hayden Smith and Terry Smith; and his brother-in-law Dave Markle.

He is survived by: his children, Tammy Smith, Mike Smith (Josie), Stacy Tadlock (Hillary) and Eddie Wagner, IV (Katie); his grandchildren, Ashton Smith, Allyson Henry, Brittany Painter, Jeri Holder, Brooke Faircloth, Riccilyn Tadlock, Emily Wagner and Luke Wagner; his great grandchildren, Vanessa Henry, Kari Henry, Johanna Henry, Kristin Williams, Abby Williams and Maddie Boan; and his siblings, Phyllis Markle, Louise Mae Stlop, Debbie Predmore and Larry Smith. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
