He was predeceased by: his wife Emily Appeld Gifford. He is survived by: his children, W. Douglas Gifford (Jeanette), Barbara Smith (Willard), Jane Johnston (Thomas) and Daniel Gifford (Heidi). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (3703 River Watch Pkwy, Martinez, GA 30907). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Georgia National Cemetery-Canton (1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114).
