He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis P. Deiter and Verna M. Stone Deiter; and his siblings, Joseph G., Robert, Harold, Melvin Deiter, Dorothy Watt and Shirley Meier.

He is survived by: his daughters, Pam, Julie, Cindy, Brenda and Carla; and his siblings, Howard Deiter (Louise) and Maxine Bronaugh. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
