He was predeceased by: his children, Michael Todd Shank, Julie Ann Shank and Matthew Scott Shank; and his siblings, William Dale Shank, Donald Allison Shank, Wayne Mickey Shank (Tuck) and Naomi Pauline Shank.
He is survived by: his wife Dixie Jean Ford Shank of Canton, Georgia; his daughter Margaret Sue Kerr (Steven) of Canton, Georgia; his granddaughter Kristy Lynn Dye; and his great grandchild Benjamin Ryan Smith.
