He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Chastain and Edith Aldrich Chastain; his son Joey Chastain; and his siblings, Henrietta Smith, Patsy Jones and Billy Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Poland Chastain; his children, Stephanie Henderson, Robin Hanley (Timothy), Lisa Chastain, Ramona Wiggins, Marty Chastain (Shera) and Michael Poland (Nina); his grandchildren, Eli Hanley, Callie Hanley, Evan Poland, Christian Poland and Jacob Chastain; and his sister Joyce Parker.
