She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Thurmond and Nettie Poole Thurmond; her husband John Goolsby of Carnesville; and her siblings, Bonnie Goolsby (Horace), Douglas Thurmond and John Thurmond.
She is survived by: her children, Eric Goolsby (Julie) of Carnesville and Claudia Rietig (Reiner) of Suwanee; her grandchildren, Eli Goolsby of Carnesville, Siles Goolsby of Carnesville, Kristoff Rietig (Caddie) of Dallas, TX and Gibson Rietig of Suwanee; her great grandchild Annie Rietig; and her sister Ellen Thurmond of Toccoa. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ginn Funeral Home (90 Church St, Carnesville, GA 30521). A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Hunters Creek Baptist Church (1360 Hunters Creek Rd, Toccoa, GA 30577).
