He was predeceased by: his parents, L. G. Harper and Rosie Harper Harper. He is survived by: his children, Jeff Harper of Carrollton, Shane Harper, Freddie Harper, Dewayne Harper and Bobbie Faye Wimberly; and his siblings, Linda Hulsey and Eddie Harper. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
