She was predeceased by: her parents, Overton Love Murphy and Laura Ann Hyde; and her close friend Kitty Wright. She is survived by: her close friend J. Douglas Wright; her husband Lloyd J. F. Southern; her children, Mark Lloyd Southern and Laura Ann Southern Miller (John); her grandchildren, Madelyn Mann Miller (Doug Templeton) and Winston Lloyd Miller; her sisters, Edith Murphy Hagen (Donahue), Shirley Murphy Burgess (Charles) and Eva Murphy Hicks (Jim); and her nieces and nephews, Kim, Karen, Kenda, Kevin, Rowena, Sharon, Larry, Jerry, June and Dinah.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (102 Dixie St, Carrollton, GA 30117). A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Sunrise Memorial Gardens (364 E Church St, Jasper, GA 30143).
