With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gilbert Henry DeLong of Carrollton, Georgia, who passed away on December 9, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Gilbert farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Gilbert is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry L. DeLong, Jr. and Carroll S. Dorsey. He is survived by: his close friend Sharon Capps of Carrollton; his children, Tonya L. Schaffer of Omaha, NE, Tracy L. Main of Council Bluffs and Francesca Booth of Council Bluffs; and his siblings, Pam Neely of Council Bluffs and Henry DeLong III of Hastings, NE. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the J. Collins Funeral Home & Cremation Service (206 S Carroll Rd, Villa Rica, GA 30180).
