He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Davis Akers and Dona Lee Huckeba Akers; his siblings, Viola Denney, Lucille Thomas, Ellen Tyson, Chrstine Collins, Eula Mae Stitcher, Ezma Thomas, Doris Akers, Roy Akers and Gerald Akers; and his granddaughter Anitta Bradford.
He is survived by: his daughter Pat Moreno; his grandchildren, Billy Smith, Gary Lee Baggett and Kile Ruben Baggett; his great grandchildren, Skylee Baggett and Nakyah Graham; and his niece Debbie Sonders.
