She was predeceased by : her parents, William Carl "Bud" Johnson and Minnie Lou Williams Johnson; her husband Dr. Arthur Lee Sanders; her grandson Christopher Michael Traylor; and her sister Geneva Johnson Sparling.

She is survived by : her children, Vicki, Robert Warner, Lynne, Michael Traylor and William Arthur Sanders; her grandchildren, Kristi Michelle Davis, John Arthur Lee, Natalie Leann Tritt, Conner William Sanders and Adrianna Christine Rose Sanders; and her great grandchildren, Kylee Michelle Davis, Brock Alexander Davis, Hayden Claire Tritt and Sullivan Grace Tritt.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Martin & Hightower Funeral Home (1312 S Park St, Carrollton, GA 30117). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

Throughout her 35-year tenure, she inspired countless students and made significant contributions to the academic community.
