She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry and Jewell Burson, Jr.; her husband Scott A. Butler of Manchester; her brother Ronald; and her sister-in-law Carole Burson.

She is survived by: her sons, Steven Butler (Jill), Scott Butler II (Emily) of Carrollton and Ben Butler (Kirby) of Carrollton; her grandchildren, Captain Jack Butler (Maddie), Joe Butler, Jeb Butler (Lizzie), Judson Butler, Judge Butler, Lieutenant Gavin Butler, Campbell Butler, Brittain Butler and Burson Butler; her great grandchildren, Margot Butler, Micah Butler and Ezra Butler; and her brother Dr. John H. Burson III (Barbara). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Memorial contributions can be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church or the Scott & Joy Butler Endowed Scholarship at the University of West Georgia.
