She was predeceased by: her mother Parkinson; and her daughter Hilda King. She is survived by: her children, George Roberts (Hermine), Florence Canterbury (Harry), Fred Roberts (Hermine), Ronald Roberts, Eric Roberts and Cecil Roberts (Roxanne). She is also survived by numerous siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was born in Georgetown, Guyana on September 5, 1923, to her late father and mother Mr. & Mrs. Parkinson.
