She is survived by: her husband Rufus Gates; her siblings, Lillie Marian Wheeler Coleman, Willie Frank Wheeler (Retanza), Margaret Arnita Wheeler, Patsy Ruth Wheeler Coleman, Donald Laveen Wheeler (Veronica) and Alice Iola Wheeler Chester; her friend Diane Linley Hall; and her cousin Alberta Lynn Nation. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
