He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Pitts and Rena May Pitts; his wife Linda Faye Pitts; and his siblings, Enoch "Junior" Rathel, John Pitts (Missing), Roy Pitts, Herrel Pitts, Barbara Hicks and Harriett Sue Berdeaux.
He is survived by: his children, Gerald Dewayne Pitts (Kathy), Ronald Lee Pitts, Belinda Gayle Pitts Stradley (Jason Robert) and Melissa Anne Pitts Adams (Kevin Jack); his grandchildren, Casey Marie Reece (Richard), Joseph Dewayne Pitts (Adrian), Courtney Christine Kassoff (Cody), Christina Anne Smith (Austin), Hannah Gayle Stradley and Noah Gann Adams; his great grandchildren, Lawson Boone Smith, Wyatt James Kassoff and Emma Grace Reece; his sister Wander Faye Tanner (Mike); his sisters-in-law, Dean Pitts and Sharon Pitts; and his pet Benji. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Owen Funeral Home (12 Collins Dr, Cartersville, GA 30120). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
