With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Laurette Smith of Cartersville, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 26, 2026 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sidney Strickland and Laura Strickland; her husband David Smith; her son Stuart Smith; her sister June Brittingham; and her son Malcolm Smith.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Bentley (Joel) and Joanne Pugh (Jim); her grandchildren, Margaret Shelman (AJ), Elizabeth Jones and Henry Jones; her nieces, Beth Lindsey (Steve), Leslie Schar (Jeff) and Irene Mallory (Ed); George Shelman.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Laurette's memory to Sam Jones Methodist Church or the Etowah Valley Historical Society.
