He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dorsey Hyde and Annie Odessa Waldrep Hyde; and his siblings, Charlotte Hyde, Thera Zifle and James Hyde.
He is survived by: his wife Claire Duggan Hyde; his children, Diane Hyde Smith and Lawrence Jackson Hyde, Jr.; and his grandsons, William Graham Smith and William Denton Smith. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
