He was predeceased by: his parents, William Frank Mathews and Lula Mae Blue Mathews; his daughter Sharon Sykes; and his siblings, Homer, Bay, David and Maxine.
He is survived by: his wife Mamie Mathews; his children, Linton Mathews Jr., Tyrell Mathews, Linda Franklin and Mitzi Allen; his grandchildren, Ricky, Jaasiel Allen, Brittany Mathews (Dustin), Tamia Mathews, Tyrell Mathews Jr. and John Franklin; his great grandchildren, Keahri Sykes, Jayden Sykes and Johnell Easter; and his siblings, Charlie, Eula, Gussie, Annette and Buddie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
