He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Benton and Francis Chandler Benton; and his sister Tina Benton Wilbanks. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Jones Benton; his children, Marlin Clay Benton Jr. (Stacy) and Tim Benton; his grandchildren, Audrey Benton and Cadey Benton; and his siblings, Brenda Benton Scoggins and Ralph Benton, Jr. (Patsy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
