He is survived by: his wife Linda Hicks; his children, David Hicks of Cedartown, Jamey Blackmon (Beth) of Griffin, Carla Mahan (Patrick) of Cartersville, Ted Kilgo (Chasity) of Rockmart and Ned Kilgo (Latura) of Childersburg; his stepdaughter Heather Abernathy (Jonas) of Cartersville; his brothers, Kenneth Hicks (Lisa) of Dallas and Ricky Hicks (Tammy) of Rockmart; and his grandchildren, Will Hicks (Catherine), Tyler Eidson (Taylor), Hallie Lynch (Connor), Abbe Campuzano (Michael), Chandler Dupree, Kadence Dupree, Riley Mahan, Reagan Mahan, Saraya Kilgo and Ashlee Kilgo. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home & Cremation Services (430 Cassville Rd, Cartersville, GA 30120). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the High Shoals Baptist Church (111 Raccoon Creek Rd, Dallas, GA 30132). A burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at the same location.
