We announce the death of Thomas Franklin Deems (Cartersville, Georgia), born in Aragon, Georgia, who passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin René Deems and Sarah May Deems (Fitzpatrick). He is survived by: his wife Joan Clark Deems; his siblings, Danny Deems (Tamara) and Kathy Carver (late Howard Carver); his children, Tanya Deems Hyman (Andy) and Bryan Franklin Deems (Marla); his grandchildren, Baylee Deems, Tatum Deems and Paul Hyman; and his nieces and nephews, Katie Jones (Ben), Carter Deems, Jennifer Breeden (Jeff) and John King.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Owen Funeral Home (12 Collins Dr, Cartersville, GA 30120). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Liberty Square Church (2001 Liberty Square Dr NE, Cartersville, GA 30121).
