It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Wendell Eugene Hicks of Cave Spring, Georgia, who passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Wendell shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Wendell farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Winford Hicks and Shirley Meers Hicks. He is survived by: his siblings, Kenneth Hicks (Starlett), Jeanice Teems (Terry) and Diane Williams; his wife Laura; and his sons, Sawyer Hicks (Taylor) and Gibson Hicks. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the South Chapel (3002 Maple Rd SE, Rome, GA 30161). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Rehoboth Baptist Church (6 Rehoboth Rd SW, Cave Spring, GA 30124).
