She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Newton Edge and Elgin Louise Edge; her husband James H Smith; and her siblings, Edna Taylor, Ruth Naegele and James V. Edge.
She is survived by: her children, Melinda Smith Rogers and Mike Smith; her sister Virginia Williams; and her grandchildren, Kevin Hampton, Kristi Robbins and Michael Smith. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
