He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivy Jefferson Brown and Eddie Mae Heath Brown; and his parents-in-law, Anne "Belle" and Aubrey Landrum. He is survived by: his wife Jane Landrum Brown; his children, Hannah Morris (Tommy) and Danya Herbermann (Danny); his grandchildren, Taylor Sellers, Jacob Herbermann, Harrison Colquitt, Tommie Leigh Morris, Mackenzeigh Morris, Harper Morris and Gage Morris; and his sisters, Judy Davis and Beth Erwin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
