It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hollis Hackney Jr. (Cedartown, Georgia), born in Rome, Georgia, who passed away on March 6, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Hollis Olin Hackney, Sr. and Ida Lee Wright Hackney. He is survived by : his son Stewart Neal Hackney; his wife Susan Ward Hackney; his daughter Kathryn Hackney Smith; his granddaughters, Cece Smith of Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; his daughter-in-law Mandy Jackson Hackney; his grandsons, Jackson Hackney of Dacula, Georgia and Cole Hackney of Dacula, Georgia; and his sister Sandra Hackney Roberts of Andalusia, Alabama. He is also survived by nieces and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Olin's memory to the Cedartown Polk County Humane Society (3416 Rockmart Highway, Cedartown, GA 30125, Attention Charlotte Harrison) and to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund (101 N College St, Cedartown, GA, 30125).
