He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Waters and Doris Burke Odom; his grandmother Evelyn Burke; and his stepbrother William "Scooter" Odom. He is survived by: his wife Debra Potts Waters; his children, Dana Melton (Jay), Jessica Henry and Jeremy Nichols; his grandchildren, Bridgette Larkin (Jake) and Lindsey Pope (Jordan); and his siblings, Lori Parker, Joy Evans and Jim Evans. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
